This week year 1 spent the morning in the forest enjoying discovering insects and all the many spring flowers. We talked about evergreen and deciduous trees and noticed that the new leaves were beginning to show. We made careful observations and discovered that the evergreen leaves were darker and shinier than the bright green new leaves. We then made an enormous flowering plant using sticks and branches. Everyone worked together showing great team work. After we had finished the children were able to describe the functions of each part of their stick plant. Can you see the roots we made?
